What to Bring

Documents and paperwork

Assuming that you’ve scheduled your mock checkride already, here’s what’s next:

    • Check your email for an appointment confirmation. This initial email will also contain a Zoom link, a link to this “What to Bring” page, and a receipt for your payment.
    • Within 24 hours of your appointment request, you’ll receive a second email with a flight planning or lesson planning (for CFI candidates) scenario. Follow the instructions in the scenario for flight planning and briefing.
    • If you did not submit it through the scheduling form, email a copy of your Airman Knowledge Test Report (or just the ACS/PLT codes at the bottom of the report, if you prefer) to scott@mockcheckride.com.
    • Bring all items on the Applicant Checklist below to your appointment, with the exception of the view-limiting device.
    • You may bring additional resources. FAA checkrides are considered open book. For some checkrides (e.g., CFI), you will absolutely want to bring and reference supplementary material (lesson plans, PHAK, AFM, Instructor’s Handbook, etc.).
    • For the most realistic experience, bring copies of the aircraft documents and records for the airplane you will be using for your checkride. If you’d like to email maintenance logbook entries, weight and balance, etc. for our reference, please send them to scott@mockcheckride.com.
    • Log onto the Zoom video call at the appointment time. Please email or call/text 503.910.7458 if you will be unable to make your scheduled time or if you experience technical difficulties.
