Example Scenario

Here’s a typical scenario for a Private Pilot applicant. Scenarios like this are crafted to provide a narrative for exploring the applicant’s knowledge of ACS subject areas. Additional real-world elements are brought up in the course of questioning.

For example, this scenario puts the pilot in busy airspace (KSAT), on a small grass field (T26), in an airplane at or near max gross weight, and in a scenario where external pressures may apply.

The applicant’s knowledge test deficiencies are also noted under ACS codes. These subject areas may be covered during the course of exploring the scenario, or as standalone items.
